VACCINATIONS: AVMA STANDARD OF CARE

Veterinary Wellness Partners (VWP) locations follow the up-to-date recommendations of the VMA (American Veterinary Medical Association) and AAHA (American Animal Hospital Association) to avoid over-vaccination. We do not vaccinate every pet for every disease. We take into consideration the pet's lifestyle, health, and the prevalence of the specific disease in our geographic area.

APPOINTMENT POLICIES

Our team is committed to providing the best care to your pets. We understand that unexpected Bevents may happen, and appointments may need to be rescheduled. However, your appointment is canceled or rescheduled without enough notice, this prevents us from being able to schedule other patients that need to be seen. If you need to cancel or reschedule your appointment, please call us by 12pm on the day prior to your pet’s scheduled appointment. If the appointment is on a Monday, please call by 12pm on Friday. Clients that miss their appointments or have cancellations or rescheduled appointments after that time will be required to pay a non-refundable $25 deposit for future scheduled appointments. This deposit will be applied to the cost of the office visit. This deposit is not refundable if the appointment is canceled or rescheduled after 12 pm the day prior to their appointment.

If you are running late for your pets appointment, please call to let us know your estimated time of arrival as soon as possible. Your appointment may need to be rescheduled due to the resulting time constraint if your arrival time would result in insufficient time for your pet or other patients scheduled that day.

New clients are required to pay a $25 deposit to hold their appointment. This deposit will go toward their office visit. New client deposits are not refundable if the appointment is canceled or rescheduled after 12 pm the day prior to their appointment.

Surgical procedures account for a significant amount of time on the doctor’s schedule; therefore, surgeries require a $100 deposit. If you need to cancel or reschedule your pet's surgery, please call us by 12pm on the day prior. If the surgical procedure is on a Monday, please call by 12pm on Friday. Clients that cancel or reschedule a surgical procedure after 12pm the prior day will be required to pay a non-refundable 50% deposit on all future scheduled surgical appointments. The deposit will be applied to the cost of the surgery. Deposits are not refundable if the surgical procedure is canceled or rescheduled after the 12 pm time frame.

PAYMENT OPTIONS

Veterinary Wellness Partners locations accept cash, American Express, MasterCard, Visa, Discover, and Care Credit. Payment is due at the time of service. We do not offer payment plans. For pets requiring hospitalization or an involved surgery, clients may be required to leave an initial deposit to cover one-half of the provided estimate. For unexpected costs during a crisis, we recommend that our clients apply for a Care Credit account. Clients are expected to make staff aware of any financial challenges before treatment has begun.

RX REFILLS

When requesting a prescription refill, please allow 24 hours for our team to prepare it for you as the doctor will need to review your pet’s records to approve the refill - as required by federal law - and the assistants have to package and label the medication. We cannot guarantee that walk-in requests can be accommodated . Over the counter items like shampoos can be purchased with no prior notice. Thank you for your patience and understanding.

You can request prescription refills by calling or emailing us. We cannot approve prescriptions for any third party pharmacies (this includes Chewy, Amazon, Drug Mart, etc.) by phone, fax, or email. If you prefer to obtain your prescription from a third party pharmacy, we can provide a  written prescription for you to pick up to send or take to your pharmacy of choice.

Federal law requires that patients receiving prescription items require an examination by the doctor within the past twelve months. If your pet has not been examined by a VWP doctor within that time frame, you will need to make an appointment to have your pet physically examined by the doctor before any medications may be prescribed. Please plan accordingly. Some medications will require additional examinations and/or diagnostics prior to refills at the doctors

discretion for the efficacy and safety of your pet.
